Ice skating is the movement of a person on the ice surface using skates with metal blades at the base. Here, the person pushes himself using his legs and tries to stay in balance by using his arms.

The most common way ice skating is done is individually. However, in some cases, paired ice skating and group ice skating are also performed. Pair ice skating and group ice skating are much more difficult than individual ice skating because a certain synchronization is required.

In ice skating competitions, participants make certain movements on the ice and according to the difficulty of these movements, the jury scores by looking at how the participant does. As a result, rankings are formed.
